Overview

ChatPolish is a Chrome extension that adds autocorrect and an optional AI-powered grammar and clarity review to WhatsApp Web. It's operated by AEH Holdings LLC, a New York limited liability company. This page explains, plainly, what data ChatPolish touches, where it goes, and why.

What runs entirely on your device

The core of ChatPolish — typo fixes, missing apostrophes, capitalization, spacing fixes, and the live flag banner for repeated words or ALL CAPS — runs entirely inside your browser. None of this is sent anywhere. Your messages are never transmitted, logged, or seen by us for any of these features.

AI review (only if you turn it on)

ChatPolish includes an optional feature: pressing Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on Mac) instead of Enter sends the message you're about to send to an AI provider of your choosing — Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), or Google (Gemini) — for a grammar and clarity check. This only happens when you actively use that shortcut.

• You provide your own API key for whichever provider you choose. It's stored locally in your browser (synced via your own Chrome account) and is sent only to that provider's API, directly from your browser.
• ChatPolish itself never sees, receives, or stores your API key or the contents of the message sent for review. The connection is directly between your browser and the provider you picked.
• Each provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle that request: Anthropic, OpenAI, Google.

License and subscription status

After your 7-day free trial, ChatPolish checks whether you have a valid subscription. This works as follows:

• Your license key (issued automatically by our payment processor when you subscribe) is stored locally in your browser.
• To confirm it's valid, your browser sends the license key to our backend (a Cloudflare Worker at chatpolish-license-check.halabyperio.workers.dev), which checks it against our subscription database (hosted on Supabase) and returns a simple valid/invalid response.
• That database stores your license key, subscription status, the email address associated with your purchase, and when that status last changed — nothing more.
• This check exists solely to confirm subscription access. It is not used for tracking, analytics, or any purpose beyond that.

Payment information

All payments are handled entirely by LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. When you subscribe, you're taken to LemonSqueezy's own checkout page — ChatPolish and AEH Holdings LLC never see, receive, or store your card details. LemonSqueezy's handling of your payment information is governed by their own privacy policy.

What we store locally in your browser

Using Chrome's built-in extension storage, ChatPolish keeps, on your device (synced across your own signed-in Chrome devices, not accessible to us):

• Your feature settings (which corrections are turned on, etc.)
• Your custom and auto-learned correction dictionary
• Your trial start date
• Your license key and AI provider API key(s), if you've entered them

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for any purpose unrelated to running ChatPolish. The only parties involved are the ones described above: LemonSqueezy (payment processing), Cloudflare (hosting our license-check backend), Supabase (our subscription database), and — only if you opt into AI review — whichever AI provider you've chosen.

Data retention

Subscription records are kept for as long as needed to operate your subscription and handle support requests. You can request deletion of your data at any time — see Contact below.

Children's privacy

ChatPolish is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
